The HCF Summer Internship is an incredible program providing practical experience to third-year minimum undergraduate students that are pursuing careers in the medical field and interested in providing care in a rural setting. Each summer, two paid interns shadow all various departments at Sidney Regional Medical Center as well as other key medical areas to gain a better understanding of a rural healthcare system. Through observation and hands-on activities the intern spends time with each department or service learning how the each supports the other areas to provide high-quality compassionate care.
The Thayer Family Scholarships, for $1,000 each, will be awarded to two students enrolled in nursing, medical or clinical program, who plan to seek employment in the Nebraska Panhandle region area upon completion of their academic program.
Students interested in applying for the internship positions or scholarships can go to http://www.sidneyrmc.com/Health Center Foundation/Internship and Scholarships, to review the requirements and download the application.
