Our staff of highly-trained providers and nurses are ready to provide high-quality emergency care quickly and efficiently.
The SRMC Emergency Room is a department of the critical access hospital. It is equipped with a triage room, 4 treatment rooms, trauma room including 24-hour radiology and laboratory services. the SRMC ER can receive a variety of emergencies ranging from a cut requiring stitches to conditions requiring surgical intervention.
SRMC Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours by a team of certified physician assistants and registered nurses. A physician on call serves as the consulting physician.

Upon arrival to the ER, the patient's condition will be evaluated to determine the severity and extent of injuries/illness. Those patients with life-threatening injuries, illness or conditions will be treated immediately. Depending on the severity of the injury, a transfer may be required.
During triage, nurses will assess the patient's medical condition to determine what treatment is required. Waiting periods can occur, so please remain calm and cooperative with medical staff.
Upon arrival, the patient will be asked to provide gernal demographic information and sign a "consent to treat" form.
Emergency Department Testing: The ER is able to run a variety of test including X-rays, EKGs, blood tests and many other diagnostic tests.
SRMC is a critical access hospital emergency room, meaning certain types of extreme medical situations may be transferred to other facilities to receive a higher level of care. Patients will be transferred to another facility if SRMC's ER does not have the necessary resources readily available.
EMS services include Regional West Medical Center's Ambulance Service based in Sidney, NE. Air ambulance services provided by Regional West Medical Ceneter's Air Link and Medical Center of the Rockies Air Link.
