Swing Bed Services
Swing Bed Care is available for patients that no longer need Acute Care, but require IV treatments, Physical Therapy, and/or other qualifying Skilled Care. A swing bed patient would remain in the same hospital room as when they were receiving nursing and medical care, but would not require the same level of monitoring as when they were admitted. Someone hospitalized at a hospital other than SRMC can be admitted to SRMC as a swing bed patient to allow them to be close to home and their loved ones.
Medicare has specific requirements for you to qualify for Skilled Care services and several other insurance companies require pre-authorization for Skilled Care services. For additional information about these services, please call 308.254.5825.
