My care philosophy is that the patient is the expert in their own life, and they can fine tune or develop the skills to tackle whatever problems they might be facing. The puzzle that we solve together involves identifying ways to integrate evidence-based therapies with each patient’s unique abilities, ultimately helping them become the best version of themselves. It is incredibly rewarding being witness to a patient’s growth. I think that my life has been a series of open doors that I’ve walked through, and I feel that way about my profession and being at SRMC. I’ve had general directions that I’ve wanted to go in my life and have taken opportunities when they’ve come up. It’s led to a profession and a community that I love. “Top Gun” is my favorite movie, but I have no idea why. It’s always been my favorite, probably because it’s so cheesy. I love to read and be outside with all of my animals! I’m also a huge bird nerd and dream of getting my falconry license. When I was volunteering in Colorado, I got to handle all sorts of birds of prey, including a bald eagle. I’m a bit fearless when it comes to animals, and I will probably seriously injure myself petting something I shouldn’t.
