My care philosophy involves meeting the individual patient where they are at. This means treatment will be tailored to their individual needs and ideas of where they are at in life and where they want to go rather than mine. I believe the journey belongs to the patient. SRMC is the perfect fit for me – oncology in a rural area while caring for patients who are truly the salt of the earth makes my job the best ever. My hobbies include cooking . . . and eating! I am a cancer survivor, so that has made me understand my patients’ cancer journeys more. Now I am able to support them better and empathize with them in a way I never would have been able to before.
