Cardiac Rehabilitation Services

The Cardiac Rehabilitation outpatient program is designed to help patients resume normal activities and adopt a healthier lifestyle after a cardiac event or surgery. The Cardiac Rehab multidisciplinary team offers supervised, telemetry monitored exercise, personal risk factor management, nutrition, and medication education. Each individual program is designed to meet your fitness and lifestyle needs and goals.

The SRMC Cardiac Rehabilitation is a member of and a certified program from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. 

Is a referral required?

To enter the Cardiac Rehabilitation program, an order is required by your healthcare provider.

What are the hours of operation for this service?

Cardiac Rehab has sessions scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Please call the Cardiac Rehab department at 308.254.5825 ext. 1111 for more information.

FAQs

Q. How do I qualify for Cardiac Rehab?

A. The patient must have a recent diagnosis of heart problems such as a heart attack, angina (chest pain), valve replacement surgery, cardiac stents, coronary bypass surgery or congestive heart failure (CHF).

Q. Will insurance pay for my Cardiac Rehab? 

A. All referrals are screened to ensure medical necessity and insurance pre-authorization have been met before initiation of the program. Our SRMC financial counselors are willing to work with all participants to develop payments programs and/or financial assistance if needed or requested.

Q. How many Cardiac Rehab sessions will I have? 

A. All Medicare patients qualify for 36 sessions. Private insurance is either 18 or 36 sessions depending on the insurance plan.

  • American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Guidelines

Certifications and affiliations:

  • Cardiac Rehab Registered Nurses (RNs) maintain a current BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Registered Dieticians and Pharmacists maintain license requirements according to NE state standards.
