Before I became a CRNA, I was a registered nurse for 16 years. I became a CRNA because I saw several colleagues return to school to become CRNAs, and I liked what I saw them doing. This career allows me to have an impact on how someone’s surgical experience feels to them. I enjoy independent anesthesia practice in rural hospitals because you can practice in a variety of areas (emergency room, surgery, labor & delivery) and you follow your patient from pre-operation through to post-operation. My hobbies include golf, cooking, reading, and watching all Husker sports. I’m a sucker for a good romantic comedy, but I also really like movies based on true stories (“A Beautiful Mind,” “Unbroken,” and “We Are Marshall”).
